Aya Gold & Silver acquires 21 mining permits in Morocco

Canadian mining company Aya Gold & Silver has expanded its operations in Morocco by acquiring three mining licenses and 18 exploration permits. The strategic portfolio covers a total area of approximately 259 square kilometers across three independent projects targeting precious, base, and critical metals.

The company announced the expansion in a press release, noting that all three project areas are located in promising mining zones.

Zagora exploration project

The Zagora project is the largest property in the new portfolio, spanning 158.6 square kilometers distributed across 11 exploration permits. The area shows potential for nickel, cobalt, lead, zinc, silver, and gold mineralization.

Field observations have already confirmed the geological importance of the Zagora zone. Field findings identified minerals on the site including pentlandite, galena, and sphalerite.

Agadir-Aït Melloul and Guelmim sites

The Agadir-Aït Melloul project covers an area of 68.5 square kilometers comprising three mining licenses and five exploration permits. The deposit is considered promising for copper, silver, gold, and rare earth elements, within a geological context comparable to certain deposits in the Anti-Atlas mountains.

The Guelmim project covers 32 square kilometers and offers potential for lead, silver, copper, and gold mineralization. Its geological configuration is similar to that of the Boumadine project.

Exploration program plans

Aya Gold & Silver plans to launch a greenfield exploration program over a period of 18 to 24 months to evaluate the discovery potential of the sites quickly.

The scheduled work will include geochemical analysis, high-resolution hyperspectral studies, mapping campaigns, and prospecting across the properties.
