Cartagena is hosting the Cabo de Pop and Noches de Sal music festivals in August, bringing artists like Miguel Ríos and Café Quijano to the city. Both events present a varied schedule of concerts and activities in key local venues throughout the month.
The Noches de Sal concert series takes place from August 14 to August 29 at the Paco Martín Auditorium in Torres Park. Musician Alejandro Astola opens the series on August 14, followed by Café Quijano on August 20 and the Sabina tribute group 500 Noches on August 21.
The schedule continues with Carlos Ares on August 27 and Taylor Manía on August 28. Spanish rock legend Miguel Ríos performs on Saturday, August 29, to close the series.
Cartagena's councillor for festivities said Noches de Sal demonstrates that the city has established itself as one of Spain's major summer cultural and musical capitals. The councillor added that the city council maintains a firm commitment to culture, live music, festivals, and tourism as engines of economic development that help boost local trade and hospitality.
Cabo de Pop festival lineup
The Cabo de Pop festival will take place in the enclave of Cabo de Palos on August 14 and August 15, focusing on independent music, the local area, and sustainability. The festival lineup features bands including Mujeres, El Diablo de Shanghái, La 126, Mare Carrier, El Último Vecino, Ku!, Los Chivatos, Cucaña, Desaparezca, and Estela Gris.
Event director Sergio González said headliners Mujeres and El Diablo de Shanghái have released what organizers believe are the two best Spanish-language albums of the year. González also highlighted regional bands such as María Carrie and Estela Gris performing alongside national acts.
Environmental activities and family events
Beyond live music, Cabo de Pop offers a program of family activities in Cabo de Palos. The schedule includes diving baptisms, paddle surfing, tours of the lighthouse, and family scavenger hunts.
Organizers said the goal of the activities is to allow visitors to enjoy the setting while promoting environmental respect to leave the area better than it was found.
