Peruvian salsa singer Daniela Darcourt has publicly responded to Spanish influencer Mario Colomina after he shared his account of the controversy surrounding her participation in a European tour, saying she holds messages that would show what truly happened behind the scenes.
Writing directly in the comments section of Colomina’s posts, Darcourt said she preferred to think it was not the same company trying to make her look bad now that they were fully exposed. She stopped short of calling out Colomina himself, saying it was clear he did not know what had actually happened.
Darcourt said she had kept every message she sent to the production team and every message they sent back, beginning from the very first moment she asked about her performance schedule. She added that even the musicians who accompanied her, and who had no personal stake in the dispute, knew the full truth.
Rome and Barcelona incidents
Colomina had previously claimed that logistical delays and flight changes prevented Darcourt from performing in Rome, and that other artists on the tour, including Massiel Malaga and Josimar, managed to fulfill their commitments despite the same difficulties.
Darcourt denied that she had coordinated with Malaga or anyone else to avoid taking the stage in Rome, a charge she described as completely false. She said the opposite was true, and that it was the people Colomina named who had been unwilling to perform from the moment they arrived at the airport.
The singer also said she would give her full version of events soon, and that in the meantime she held onto the mutual respect and warmth she and Colomina had shown each other during the tour week.
