The Dominican Republic’s National Directorate of State Property has launched its second public auction of 2026, offering 123 lots and 61 vehicle batches including cars, jeeps, pickup trucks, small aircraft, motorcycles for parts, appliances and scrap metal.
Nelson Gomez, director of Auctions, said the event was expected to surpass 50 million pesos in bids, compared to an opening bid of around 42 million pesos at the first auction. He added that the total would be more than double what the first auction of 2026 generated.
Gomez noted that under the current administration of State Property, led by Rafael Burgos Gomez, average auction proceeds had risen from 10 million pesos to between 30 and 35 million pesos.
The auction is being held at the auditorium of the Higher Police Education Institute. Participants paid a 2,000-peso registration fee to take part.
Successful bidders have five business days from the auction date to pay in full by certified check made out to the national treasury, and five additional business days to collect their goods.
