Former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Eden Sassoon underwent an upper blepharoplasty procedure in Beverly Hills after her upper eyelids began feeling physically heavy.
The 53-year-old reality television personality and entrepreneur made an appointment with plastic surgeon Dr Steve Kim after seeing the results of a procedure he performed on one of her friends. Within days of her consultation, Sassoon had the surgery completed.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Sassoon explained that her decision to undergo eyelid surgery was driven by physical discomfort rather than cosmetic concerns. "A couple of months ago I woke up, looked in the mirror and thought, something has to change," she said. "I realized it was my eyelids. They felt heavy, and I just didn't feel like myself when I looked in the mirror."
Sassoon described the recovery process as swift and straightforward, noting that the heaviness over her eyes has completely disappeared. "It was honestly one of the easiest things I've ever done, and I'm so happy with the result," she said. "People tell me I look refreshed, which is lovely, but the biggest difference for me is that I don't feel that heaviness over my eyes anymore."

Sassoon is a mother of two who shares her 21-year-old daughter Liv and 20-year-old son Tyler with her ex-husband Tomer DeVito.

Previous Cosmetic Procedures and Family Legacy
The upper blepharoplasty was not Sassoon's first experience with cosmetic surgery. At age 36, she underwent lower eyelid surgery to correct persistent under-eye puffiness.

Her surgeon explained that under-eye fat pockets can be hereditary. Sassoon later discovered that her father, legendary hairstylist Vidal Sassoon, had also undergone multiple eye surgeries.

"When I told my dad, he said, 'Yes darling, I've had my eyes done three times!' I was like, thanks for telling me," Sassoon recalled. "I told him that since I clearly inherited puffy eyes from him, he could pay a third of the bill. And he did."

Vidal Sassoon revolutionized women's hairstyling in the 1960s with geometric cutting techniques, including the iconic five-point cut, building a global brand around beauty, precision and reinvention before his death in 2012 at age 84.
Earlier in life, Sassoon also had rhinoplasty and later received breast implants. After undergoing several implant surgeries and experiencing physical discomfort, she chose to remove the implants permanently rather than replace them.

"I kept thinking that maybe changing the implants would solve how I was feeling," she said. "Eventually I reached a point where I just wanted them out. My breasts are smaller now, and I'm completely comfortable with that. I have no interest in replacing them. For me, it became about listening to my body and doing what felt right for me."
In 2019, Sassoon also underwent an AuraLyft facelift, which she said gave her a renewed sense of confidence at that point in her life.
Alcoholism Recovery and Family Background
Beyond her history with cosmetic enhancements, Sassoon speaks openly about her battle with alcoholism and her ongoing recovery journey.

Sassoon maintained continuous sobriety for nine and a half years before experiencing a relapse. She hit rock bottom in Las Vegas in April 2023, but sought help immediately through a 12-step program.
"For 9 1/2 years I retained my sobriety," she said. "Then, I thought I could drink again, and that this time, it would be different. But I hit rock bottom in April of 2023, while in Las Vegas. The difference was, this time I knew who to call and where to go for help, thanks to a 12-step program."

Sassoon attributes her early views on beauty and self-care to her upbringing under her famous father. "I grew up in a world where looking good mattered," she said. "My dad was always striving, creating, and reinventing himself. That was the environment I grew up in, so of course it shaped me. But as I've gotten older, I understand that feeling good is about so much more than what you see in the mirror."

Her mother, Beverly Sassoon, is also a recovering alcoholic. At age 80, Beverly is currently writing her own memoir, which Sassoon noted will be "a wild ride."

Sassoon entered the public eye when she joined season seven of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in 2017 at age 43. She appeared in 16 episodes alongside co-star Eileen Davidson before announcing her exit from the series in May of that year.
Approach to Fitness, Nutrition and the Future
Sassoon's current approach to wellness focuses on holistic health, encompassing mind, body and spirit. Having previously owned Pilates studios, she has spent years studying physical movement and recovery.
Her fitness routine now emphasizes mobility and breathing over heavy lifting or high speed. "As you age, your body changes. That's just part of being human," she said. "Right now, I'm not focused on lifting heavier or moving faster. I'm focused on mobility, breath, recovery and building a foundation that will carry me as I age."
Her nutritional philosophy is equally straightforward, prioritizing protein intake and fruit while rejecting strict perfectionism. She also emphasizes inner growth, self-care and resilience.
"For me, getting older isn't about trying to turn back time," Sassoon said. "I want to feel good when I look in the mirror, absolutely. But more importantly I want to feel strong, healthy and connected to myself. I'm not trying to fix myself. I'm taking care of myself."
Following her recent eye surgery, Sassoon traveled to Costa Rica for a quiet retreat to reset her mindset. "I went away and sat still. I breathed. I stopped pushing. I wanted to get my mind back into the right place. When I came home, I felt like, okay, this is a new reset," she said.

Sassoon hinted that her next chapter may involve collaborating with her brother Elan as she returns to her family's beauty and wellness roots. "My dad was always reinventing himself," she said. "I think that's something I inherited from him. I'm excited about where I am now, and I want to keep evolving, feeling good and enjoying every chapter. So don't be surprised if what comes next brings me back to my roots, but in my own way."
