Flies Swarm Russian Village of Topolevo Near Khabarovsk

Swarms of flies have attacked Topolevo, a village located near Khabarovsk, coating streets and clinging to vehicles, according to the Telegram channel Amur Mash.

Local residents complained that the insects covered cars, benches, and playgrounds, creating an almost solid carpet on the asphalt. The flies also entered houses and apartments that were fitted with mosquito nets.

Resident Complaints and Suspected Cause

Residents described the situation as unbearable and said people were running inside from the streets because the pavement was covered in midges. They added that it was impossible to walk or drive through the area, describing the situation as an apocalypse.

Locals suspected that the cause of the swarm was manure, claiming an enterprise may have violated regulations while fertilizing fields located near the village.

Earlier, the sky in the area of Kizlyar in Dagestan darkened after locusts attacked the region.
