Moscow will see weather without significant precipitation in the coming days, according to Alexander Ilyin, a forecaster at the Meteo forecasting center, who spoke to RT.
Ilyin said brief rain and a possible thunderstorm would hit western and northwestern Moscow on Sunday, August 2, with a cold front reaching the capital late in the evening. Weekend daytime temperatures would climb to between 28 and 31 degrees Celsius, he said, with nighttime lows of 18 to 20 degrees in the city center and 16 to 18 degrees in the surrounding region.
He said the cold front passing through on Sunday evening would lower temperatures, though warm conditions would continue. Temperatures would hold between 23 and 28 degrees for most of the first half of the work week, he said.
Ilyin said the weather would bring no significant precipitation, with only isolated brief rain possible on Monday and Wednesday.
Earlier forecast
Tatiana Pozdnyakova, chief specialist at Moscow's weather bureau, had earlier said weekend temperatures would reach up to 28 degrees, with no precipitation expected in the capital on Saturday, August 1.
