Frankfurt Galaxy defeated their hosts in Prague 37:34 on Sunday in their final regular-season game, securing a place in the first playoffs of the newly founded European Football Alliance (EFA).
Frankfurt will face the Munich Ravens in the semifinal on Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Stadion am Bornheimer Hang. In the other semifinal, Nordic Storm from Copenhagen will play Paris.
Early lead and a long field goal
Frankfurt built an early lead in the first quarter with touchdowns from returner Ahsan Moore and wide receiver Brevin Easton. The second quarter was quieter, with kicker Ryan Rimmler making the only highlight, a field goal of more than 60 yards. Frankfurt led 17:13 at halftime.

The third quarter was more offensive. Gerald Ameln ran in another Galaxy touchdown, Prague answered, and Frankfurt responded again when Brevin Easton caught a long pass from quarterback Zack Calzada for his second touchdown of the day, making it 30:20. Norman Schumm caught the day's final touchdown for Prague in the fourth quarter.
The performance was not flashy but experienced. A close loss would also have been enough for Frankfurt to qualify for the playoffs, so the team conserved some effort.
