Giannis Antetokounmpo attended a friendly basketball game between Olympiacos and Promitheas Patras at the Peace and Friendship Stadium auxiliary court on Sunday afternoon.
The Milwaukee Bucks star brought his wife, Mariah, and their children to the arena in Piraeus. He was present at the venue to support his younger brother, Alex Antetokounmpo, who plays for Promitheas Patras.
Antetokounmpo, known as the Greek Freak, is a two-time NBA Most Valuable Player who won an NBA championship with Milwaukee in 2021. His brother Alex joined Promitheas Patras ahead of the new season after playing professionally in Europe and North America.
Promitheas Patras and Olympiacos Pre-season Preparation
Former Olympiacos player Bryan Dunston was also at the training court on Sunday. Dunston is currently assisting the European champions with their pre-season preparation, offering solutions for coach Giorgos Bartzokas among the frontcourt players at this stage of the season.
Dunston previously enjoyed a successful tenure with the Piraeus club, establishing himself as a top defensive center in EuroLeague basketball. Olympiacos is currently preparing for its upcoming domestic and European campaigns under Bartzokas.
Greek National Team International Duty
Greek national team squad members Vangelis Bazinas and Karagiannidis were also present at the Peace and Friendship Stadium facility. Both players have been named to the national team roster for the international qualification window.
The national team is scheduled to play a crucial World Cup qualifier against Spain on Monday. Bazinas and Karagiannidis are preparing to feature in the high-stakes match as Greece looks to advance in qualification.
The Peace and Friendship Stadium, situated in the Faliro coastal zone of Piraeus, serves as the home venue for Olympiacos B.C. and regularly hosts practice sessions on its auxiliary courts.
