Spanoulis said there was unnecessary doom-mongering around the squad despite having six qualification games remaining. He pointed out that the team has repeatedly demonstrated an ability to unite during difficult moments.
Spanoulis noted that results do not always go as planned, adding that players must react, work hard, and reflect on their performances to bounce back. He expressed satisfaction with the progress made after a week of intensive training sessions.
Spanoulis, a former EuroLeague champion and long-time national team star who took charge as head coach, highlighted the scheduling challenges posed by international qualifying windows. He explained that summer windows require players to adapt either immediately after exhausting club seasons or straight from holiday breaks.
