Greece will send a delegation of 278 athletes to the 2026 Mediterranean Games in Taranto, Italy, taking place from August 21 to September 3. The team will compete across 29 different sports during the competition.

Team Hellas gathered for an official photoshoot at the Hellenic Olympic Committee building in Marousi ahead of their departure. The national team is supported by DEI, which serves as the platinum sponsor of the Hellenic Olympic Committee.

Support from the Hellenic Olympic Committee

Antonis Nikolopoulos, the head of mission for the Taranto games, welcomed the athletes at the headquarters and conveyed wishes for success from Hellenic Olympic Committee president Isidoros Kouvelos.

Nikolopoulos said the committee headquarters would remain by the athletes' side throughout the competition to ensure the best stay and optimal training conditions. He expressed confidence that the delegation would celebrate numerous Greek successes together and thanked DEI for supporting the team and the committee.

Olympic Medalists and World Champions

The Greek squad features several prominent athletes, including Olympic medalists Stefanos Ntouskos, Apostolos Christou, Zoe Fitsiou, Petros Gkaidatzis, Dauren Kurugliev, Theodoros Tselidis, Elisavet Teltsidou, and Dora Gkountoura.

The delegation also includes world and European champions Maria Prevolaraki, Giorgos Kougioumtsidis, and Emmanouela Katzouraki among its roster.
