Some professions in Greece are paying salaries far above the national norm, with certain specialties reaching as much as 10,000 euros a month, according to a survey by the recruitment website kariera.gr.
The survey found that while a significant share of workers in Greece continue to be paid close to or even below 1,000 euros gross, some specialists earn salaries starting at 2,000 euros a month.

What drives the pay gap
High pay does not depend solely on which industry a person works in, according to kariera.gr. The survey found that specialization, years of experience, the ability to take on international roles, and a growing shortage of executives with complex technical and administrative skills all play a decisive role in determining pay.
