Mobile device maker HMD is preparing to launch the HMD 2760 Flip, a new flip phone running Android 13 Go according to tech leaks.
The leaked details indicate that the button clamshell phone will transition away from KaiOS software to Icon OS 13, an operating system built on Google Android 13 Go platform.
As reported by GSMArena, the software transition could provide users with direct access to the Google Play Store and Google Mobile Services. The information originated from a social media post published on August 16, 2026, by technology leaker HMD_MEME'S on X, formerly Twitter.
Software upgrade and app support
KaiOS, which powered the previous HMD 2660 Flip model, is a lightweight mobile operating system designed for keypad feature phones. Shifting to an Android foundation allows entry level handsets to run modern application services while preserving physical keypad navigation.
Android 13 Go Edition is a stripped down version of Google operating system optimized for smartphones with limited memory and processing capability.
The leak suggests that the HMD 2760 Flip will feature a dedicated Google Play Store button, a touch pad for navigation, an SOS emergency key, and a preinstalled version of the classic mobile game Snake.
Technical specifications and hardware
Hardware specifications for the HMD 2760 Flip include a 2.8-inch main LCD internal screen paired with a 1.77-inch outer LCD display.
The handset is expected to run on a Unisoc T310 processor clocked at 1.8GHz. It is listed with 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, and expansion support for microSD cards up to 128GB.
Unisoc is a fabless semiconductor company based in Shanghai that produces system on chip designs for budget mobile devices and consumer electronics.
Camera and battery performance
For photography, the device is slated to include a 5-megapixel main camera with autofocus and an LED flash, alongside a front-facing VGA camera also accompanied by an LED flash.
Power is supplied by a 2,500 mAh battery. Physical connections on the phone include a USB Type-C port and a standard 3.5mm headphone jack.
The clamshell handset will support 4G network connectivity, Wi-Fi with mobile hotspot functionality, and Bluetooth. It is set to be offered in three color options: Black, Cyan, and Pink.
Company strategy and official status
The overall aesthetic of the phone will closely resemble the Nokia 2660 Flip. HMD Global, the Finnish mobile device manufacturer, has not released official details or confirmed launch timelines for the 2760 Flip.
The leak comes shortly after HMD introduced new Nokia feature phones integrated with artificial intelligence capabilities. The company also recently unveiled the Asha 305, a budget smartphone featuring a removable battery.
