Chinese technology brand Honor has introduced the Pad 20 Pro, a high-performance tablet powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor. The new device is designed as a more powerful upgrade to the standard Pad 20 model and aims to compete as an alternative to Apple's iPad lineup.
Honor has scheduled the official commercial launch of the Pad 20 Pro in Malaysia for August 24. The manufacturer has not yet revealed the retail pricing for the tablet.
Performance and software specifications
Under the hood, the Pad 20 Pro runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, paired with 8GB of random-access memory and 256GB of built-in storage. The system operates on Honor's MagicOS 10 user interface, which is built on top of Google's Android 16 operating system.
Honor, originally established in Shenzhen, China as a sub-brand of Huawei before becoming an independent device manufacturer, develops consumer hardware including smartphones, laptops, and tablets. Android 16 represents the latest iteration of Google's widely used open-source mobile platform, while Qualcomm's Snapdragon processors power many of the industry's premium mobile devices.
The tablet includes Honor's proprietary artificial intelligence features and a dedicated PC Mode. The desktop interface option changes the standard mobile layout into a multi-window workspace similar to a desktop computer environment.
Display and hardware features
The Pad 20 Pro features a 12.1-inch IPS liquid crystal display offering a resolution of 3000 by 1872 pixels, a peak brightness of 700 nits, and a 165Hz refresh rate. The screen supports input from the Magic-Pencil 4s stylus, and Honor plans to release a separate Paperlike Edition that includes a specialized anti-glare display coating.
IPS, or In-Plane Switching, is a display technology known for accurate color reproduction and wide viewing angles. High refresh rates such as 165Hz allow displays to render motion and visual transitions much more smoothly than standard panels.
A large 10,100 mAh battery powers the tablet and supports 66W wired fast charging. According to data released by Honor, the tablet can play video continuously for up to 12 hours on a single charge.
For media and imaging, the device comes equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera, an 8-megapixel front camera, and a six-speaker audio system configured with DTS Ultra sound processing. Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 standards, though Honor confirmed that no cellular mobile network version will be offered. The tablet will be sold in a gray color finish.
Broader product lineup developments
The tablet launch comes as Honor continues to expand its mobile product portfolio across international markets. Ukrainian news outlet LIGA.net reported that the company is currently developing technology similar to Samsung's Privacy Display feature for its upcoming flagship smartphones.
