Apple is planning to launch an iPhone 20 Pro featuring a quad-curved bezel-less screen for its 20th anniversary lineup, according to industry leaks.
Insiders claim the technology company will skip the iPhone 19 designation entirely to align the release with the two-decade milestone of its smartphone brand. Tech publication PhoneArena reported that the upcoming flagship devices will feature larger displays than the newly released iPhone 18 Pro series.
According to details shared by industry insider Digital Chat Station, the standard iPhone 20 Pro will feature a 6.41-inch display with a resolution of 2686 × 1236 pixels. The larger iPhone 20 Pro Max display could expand to 6.96 inches with a resolution of 2912 × 1340 pixels.
Quad-curved glass and display design
The primary design modification involves the physical shape of the display. Apple is experimenting with a bezel-less screen that curves along all four edges. The design is intended to make the front panel resemble a single continuous piece of glass, leaving the metal frame virtually hidden during standard use.
For comparison, the current iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max feature display sizes of 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches respectively. The pixel density across the new anniversary generation is expected to remain consistent with previous models at approximately 460 pixels per inch.
Apple is also evaluating options to reduce the size of the Dynamic Island cutout or eliminate it entirely. Current testing includes a smaller cutout that leaves only a single punch-hole aperture for the front-facing selfie camera in the top-left corner of the display.
OLED technology and release schedule
Reports of a radical iPhone redesign for 2027 previously indicated that Apple is working with Samsung to produce specialized OLED panels. These displays feature subtle micro-curves on all four sides to create an all-glass aesthetic, fulfilling a design vision originally promoted by Apple co-founder Steve Jobs.
Apple, based in Cupertino, California, launched the original iPhone in 2007. The company relies heavily on organic light-emitting diode technology for its premium mobile devices, utilizing OLED panels from manufacturers like South Korea's Samsung to improve display brightness, energy efficiency, and borderless physical designs.
The leaks follow Apple's autumn launch event, where the primary announcement was the company's first foldable iPhone featuring a flexible screen. While the flagship iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models went on sale shortly after the event, Apple did not announce a base iPhone 18 model, which rumors suggest has been delayed until spring 2027.
