A fundraising campaign for the family of Tenerife striker Jesús De Miguel Almeida has surpassed 100,000 euros following his death after a match collision.
The Spanish forward was knocked unconscious during a heavy collision with Andorra goalkeeper Jesús Owono and died the following day.
Hércules CF footballer Fran Sol organised the crowdfunding appeal to provide financial assistance to the late player's household, prompting an immediate outpouring of solidarity from across Spanish football.

Support from across Spanish football
The campaign gained rapid momentum across the domestic game, drawing donations from prominent Spanish internationals and top division figures.
High profile players including Álvaro Morata, Borja Iglesias, Marc Bartra, Álex Baena, Pedro Porro, Álex Remiro and Carles Aleñá made personal contributions to the fund.
Club executives also provided substantial financial backing. Karl Christian Septién Stoute, the president of Cádiz CF, contributed 15,000 euros, while AD Ceuta president Luhay Hamido donated 3,500 euros.
Aid for wife and daughter
Sol said that all the money raised through the campaign would go directly to De Miguel's wife, his daughter and his family.
The Hércules striker explained that the initiative was entirely spontaneous. Sol said he did not want to engage with Instagram merely to post photographs and offer moral support, choosing instead to launch a practical initiative of the type organised in other countries.
League backing and solidarity
LaLiga has endorsed the campaign across its official social media platforms, and organisers anticipate the overall total will rise significantly over the coming days.
Both Tenerife and Andorra compete in the professional tiers of Spanish football, where De Miguel played as a centre forward for the Canary Islands side.
Sol, an experienced forward who has represented teams across Spain and abroad before joining Alicante based Hércules, helped unite players from across the country in support of the family.

The campaign continues to draw backing from dressing rooms and football institutions nationwide as tributes pour in for De Miguel.
