Peruvian television personality Karen Schwarz has revealed the contents of a letter she sent to President Keiko Fujimori after Fujimori assumed Peru's presidency, along with a gift package from Schwarz's underwear brand, Valente. Fujimori had publicly thanked Schwarz for the gesture, prompting Schwarz to share the letter herself.
In a video posted on her social media accounts, Schwarz read part of the message aloud. She said it moved her to think that, woman to woman, they could support each other more than they imagined, and said she hoped the garments would remind Fujimori never to stop caring for the woman behind all the titles and responsibilities.

Schwarz is a former Peruvian television host who now lives in Spain with her husband, singer Ezio Oliva, and their two daughters. Since stepping away from television, she has devoted her career to building Valente, her lingerie brand.
Fujimori, the daughter of former Peruvian president Alberto Fujimori, has stood as a candidate in previous presidential elections.
What the letter said
In the letter, Schwarz wrote that she was not thinking that day about the office Fujimori was about to take on, but about the woman she is: the mother, the daughter, the sister, the friend, a woman who, like all women, has had to find strength even on the hardest days.
Schwarz added that she had sent the gift not to remind Fujimori of the responsibility ahead of her, but to remind her that she also deserves to feel comfortable, supported and embraced through it all, and that small gestures like this one can help women reconnect with themselves.
Schwarz denies any political motive
After sharing the letter, Schwarz also addressed those who might read her gesture as a political endorsement. She was firm that the gift was driven solely by admiration for another woman entrepreneur, not by ideological sympathies.
She explained that the idea began with a conversation with Valente's general manager, who suggested sending a gift to the president. To arrange the delivery, Schwarz contacted designer Yirko Sivirich, who helped get the package into Fujimori's hands.
Schwarz said that before anyone tried to attach a political label to her, she wanted to make one thing very clear: the gesture had nothing to do with the right, the left or political parties. She said it had to do with what she feels as one woman toward another who chose to share her experience with a venture that Schwarz has been building with her whole heart for almost five years.
