Dominican actor and comedian Kenny Grullón is struggling to sleep after a violent robbery at his home in Santo Domingo.
The entertainer broke his silence in a message shared on his Instagram account to address the break-in at his residence. He acknowledged that he continues to relive the event, stating that life must go on despite the trauma, but admitted he has not been sleeping well since the intrusion.

Grullón expressed hope that he will gradually recover and return to his normal routine. He extended heartfelt thanks to his family, friends, and social media followers for the overwhelming support he received through messages, telephone calls, and prayers following the attack.
The actor gave special thanks to God, stating that divine support was with him throughout the ordeal and helped him manage the dangerous situation inside his residence.
Grullón is a prominent figure in Dominican entertainment, widely known for his decades of work as a theatrical actor, television personality, and humorist in the Caribbean nation. His home is located in Zona Universitaria, a central residential neighborhood in the National District of Santo Domingo that houses the city's major academic institutions.
Court orders pre-trial detention for suspect
Grullón made his public statement after a judge at the Permanent Attention Office of the National District issued a three-month pre-trial detention order against the suspect accused of committing the violent assault.
Authorities identified the suspect as Yefry Manuel Jiménez, who also goes by the aliases Babo and Jefry. Police officers and judicial investigators named Jiménez as the primary suspect responsible for entering Grullón's home.

According to official investigations, the intruder broke into Grullón's residence in Zona Universitaria and confronted the actor. The suspect allegedly threatened Grullón with a sharp object, physically restrained him, and searched the property for valuables.
Investigators reported that the assailant stole cash, a mobile phone, and Grullón's wedding ring before fleeing the premises. The presiding judge ordered that Jiménez must serve the three-month coercion measure at the public prison in Baní.
In the Dominican legal system, the Permanent Attention Office conducts initial hearings to decide on pre-trial detention orders, known as coercive measures, while prosecutors gather evidence for trial. The public prison facility in Baní, the capital of Peravia Province located west of Santo Domingo, routinely holds individuals facing judicial detention orders.
Reflections on vulnerability and support
Concluding his message to supporters, Grullón reflected on the emotional impact of the crime and the outpouring of affection he received from the public in the aftermath.
He remarked that life sometimes unexpectedly reminds people of how fragile human existence can be, while simultaneously demonstrating how fortunate they are to be surrounded by people who care for them.
