A 15-year-old schoolboy has been found dead with knife wounds inside an abandoned annex on Sutormin Street in Khanty-Mansiysk after leaving home to collect his textbooks.
Russian television network REN TV reported that the teenager was found showing no signs of life after he failed to return home or answer phone calls from his family.
Local law enforcement launched a search after witnesses reported seeing the victim walking alongside a former classmate shortly before his disappearance. Officers subsequently detained the teenager, who confessed during questioning that he stabbed the schoolboy during a conflict between them.
Police background checks revealed that the detained suspect was already listed on an active interstate wanted database. A neighboring country had been searching for the teenager since February in connection with a prior killing.
