Legia Warsaw Signs Jan Kuchta on Loan From Sparta

Legia Warsaw has confirmed the loan signing of Czech striker Jan Kuchta, 29, shortly before 10pm on Monday, August 10.

The club said Kuchta, a Czech international, has been loaned to Legia until the end of the 2026/27 season with an option to buy. He arrives from AC Sparta Prague, where he came through the youth system.

Titles and goal record

According to the club, Kuchta won the Czech championship with Slavia Prague in the 2020/21 season and with Sparta Prague in 2023/24 and 2024/25. He was also the Czech league's top scorer in 2020/21 with 15 goals. In total, the club said, he has played 219 matches in the Czech top flight, scoring 87 goals.

Kuchta said it was a very good moment for the move, calling Legia the most decorated club in Poland with a beautiful stadium in a beautiful city. He said his goal was clear: he wants to work hard and help the team as much as possible, and hopes Legia makes a strong start to the new season.

Limited game time at Sparta

Last season Kuchta played 45 matches for Sparta Prague, scoring 15 goals and adding 11 assists, though he was often used as a substitute, totaling 2,535 minutes, the equivalent of about 28 full matches.

He could make his Legia debut this weekend, with the team hosting Radomiak on Friday, August 14 at 8:30pm.
