Misko Raznatovic Confirms Panathinaikos Offer for Jokic

Sports agent Misko Raznatovic has confirmed that Panathinaikos owner Dimitris Giannakopoulos made an official proposal to sign Serbian NBA center Nikola Jokic.

Raznatovic told Mozzart Sport that everything Giannakopoulos stated regarding the offer to Jokic during a recent interview with Euro Insiders is true. The agent said that in his 30 years in the business he had never encountered such a proposal.

Despite confirming the offer, Raznatovic explained that the transfer is almost impossible to realize. He added that because of his direct relationship with Giannakopoulos, he immediately explained to the Panathinaikos BC AKTOR owner that the proposal could not be considered.

Contract proposal details and reaction

Giannakopoulos revealed during his Euro Insiders interview that he tried to bring Jokic to the Greek club this year and intends to try again next year. His comments created widespread coverage in the United States, with sports outlets ESPN and Yahoo Sports reporting on the proposal.

In the same interview, Giannakopoulos addressed several other topics involving Panathinaikos and Greek basketball. He stated that taking down Dejan Bodiroga's banner was a mistake, and he criticized rival club Olympiacos by saying that ten years ago they called offside and did not know a basketball was orange.

Giannakopoulos also spoke about a heart attack he suffered in 2020, as well as head coach Ergin Ataman, former coach Zeljko Obradovic, and Olympiacos owners the Angelopoulos brothers. The report of Raznatovic's confirmation was originally published by gazzetta.gr.
