Ève Gilles, Miss France 2024, finished second at the Miss Supranational 2026 pageant held on July 31 in Nowy Sącz, Poland, where 67 candidates competed. The crown went to Katrina Llegado of the Philippines.
The 23-year-old statistics student, who hails from northern France, reacted on Instagram shortly after the ceremony, saying she was very happy with the result and that she had given everything. She said she hoped to have made her supporters proud, adding that she herself was proud and was having a wonderful time. She also apologized from the stage for her slightly hoarse voice during her first remarks of the evening.
Her new purple-bordered sash, bearing the words “1st runner-up” in the competition’s new official color, featured alongside her runner-up crown in the post.
A strong three-week run
Gilles was the first Miss France representative ever to enter Miss Supranational, a milestone that came after the Société Miss France withdrew from Miss Universe and chose the Polish organization instead. The Société Miss France said that throughout her preparation Gilles had represented her country with determination, pride and immense commitment, and that her involvement had allowed France to finish with such a strong result.
During the three weeks of competition, Gilles won the Miss Photogenic title at the preliminary show, reached the top 20 in the online-popularity-based Miss Supra Influencer challenge, and was a finalist in the Supra Chat event, in which all 67 candidates discussed their opinions, ideas, motivations, failures and successes. She also placed in the last ten for the Supra Fan Vote.
