Chandler David Hendry, a Mormon influencer and podcaster known for his social media channels Restored Truth, has died at age 27. He was the sole fatality in a three-vehicle crash in Lehi, Utah, on Friday morning.
Witnesses said Hendry ran a red light and struck the two other vehicles, whose occupants were not injured, Lehi police spokesperson Jeanteil Livingston told KSL. Livingston said Hendry was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision, and that the crash remains under investigation.
Hendry was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He leaves behind his wife, AnaLynn.
Restored Truth following
Hendry built a loyal following through Restored Truth, which he described as being "scripture-centered" and "Christ-focused." He used the platform to share his faith as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Dozens of followers flooded the comment section under his final posts to share condolences. One follower wrote that Hendry and his work would be missed, thanking him for what he had done in the Lord's vineyard, and urged others reading to wear their seatbelts, saying it could have saved Hendry's life.
Another wrote that they were in shock and did not believe the news at first, calling Hendry their favorite LDS content creator and saying he had so much going for him. A third follower wrote that they were heartbroken and thanked Hendry for changing their life and strengthening their testimony.
GoFundMe for the family
Hendry's family has set up a GoFundMe page to help ease the financial burden during what they called this devastating time. The page states that Hendry touched many lives through his social media platforms but was also known as an amazing sibling, uncle and friend, and that he helped many people better understand the teachings of the gospel and know they are loved by their Heavenly Father.
The fundraiser had raised more than $60,000 of its $80,000 target.
