Moscow Restaurant Apologizes After Bombing Kills Five

A Moscow restaurant apologized for what it called an inappropriate social media post following a bomb blast at its premises that left five people dead.

Balzi Rossi, located on Kudrinskaya Square, was the site of an improvised explosive device detonation on August 1. According to the National Anti-Terrorism Committee, an unidentified woman attempted to bring the bomb inside but was blocked by a security guard. The woman, the guard, and a customer were killed in the explosion, with the death toll later rising to five.

The restaurant had initially published a post stating that its premises were undamaged. It later deleted the message, saying it was deeply inappropriate given the circumstances, and offered a sincere apology. The restaurant added it had taken steps to prevent a similar situation from occurring again.

Balzi Rossi also said it would reach out to the families of those killed to provide assistance.
