Moscow residents have a chance of experiencing a warm September, according to Anatoly Tsygankov, the head of the crisis management department at the Hydrometeorological Centre of Russia.
Speaking to 360.ru, Tsygankov said that accurate forecasts for the first month of autumn are not yet possible. He noted that Moscow had little real summer weather this year, but August is turning out to be warm.
Temperatures in Moscow and the surrounding region could rise to plus 32 degrees on Friday, August 7. Tsygankov said a brief temperature drop to normal levels will occur in mid-August, followed by a warm end to the month.
September Weather Forecast
Tsygankov said historical data is unlikely to help predict September weather. Although September brought warm summer weather for two consecutive years, expecting a third warm year is like a 50-50 lottery, he added.
Earlier, Yuri Khitev, an associate professor at the Institute of Ecology at RUDN University, warned that the start of autumn could bring surprisingly warm weather to residents across many regions of Russia.
