MIC Izvestia, one of the primary assets of National Media Group, has acquired a controlling stake in the Russian publishing house Komsomolskaya Pravda.
The acquisition was announced in a press release delivered to news outlet Lenta.ru on September 3, 2026. Representatives for the company stated that the transaction reinforces National Media Group's position within the market for information and entertainment content.
Vladimir Tyulin, the director general of MIC Izvestia, said that bringing together the teams and resources of both companies would allow them to strengthen their shared competencies. He explained that the combination would provide audiences with additional products while establishing a unique offering for advertisers.
Olesya Nosova, the director general of the Komsomolskaya Pravda publishing house, stated that the editorial team welcomed the new growth opportunities. She described the transaction as a unique opening to expand the publishing house's footprint in the media market, draw upon the technological expertise of MIC Izvestia, and carry out ambitious projects.
Media conglomerate portfolio
National Media Group is among Russia's largest private media holdings, managing a diverse array of broadcast, print, and digital assets. Its television broadcasting network includes popular channels such as REN TV, Fifth Channel, STS, Domashny, and Che, in addition to the news producer MIC Izvestia.
Within the print and publishing sector, the conglomerate already holds several prominent assets. These include the sports newspaper Sport-Express and the business publication Delovoy Peterburg, alongside various other media properties.
