A 37-year-old man in Novoshakhtinsk will stand trial for beating his ex-wife's partner to death with an axe and burying his body in her yard.

A 37-year-old resident of Novoshakhtinsk will stand trial for beating his ex-wife's partner to death with an axe, the Rostov Regional Prosecutor's Office told Lenta.ru.

According to the investigation, the crime occurred in February inside the house of the suspect's former wife on Potemkin Street. The man got into a conflict with her new partner, grabbed an axe, and struck his opponent until he died. He then buried the victim's body in the yard of his ex-wife's house to conceal the traces.

Witness charges

The woman witnessed the crime. Law enforcement agencies opened a criminal case against her under Article 316 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which covers concealment of a crime.

Investigators previously finished their probe into a separate case involving a 62-year-old resident of Novorossiysk who beat his wife and her acquaintance to death with an axe.
