Olympiacos FC has warned season ticket holders that reselling their tickets to third parties for money breaches the club's terms and conditions and can result in sanctions, according to a statement issued by the club.
The Piraeus-based club said that since the start of the current season it has identified numerous season ticket holders offering or selling their tickets to third parties for payment through various social media accounts, official websites and other online platforms acting as ticket marketplaces.
What the club's terms require
Olympiacos said that every season ticket holder, at the time of purchase, expressly and unconditionally accepts the club's "Terms and Conditions for the Issuance and Use of Tickets" for the 2026/2027 season, which are published on the club's official website and govern the issuance, possession, use, transfer and general distribution of season tickets.
The club said a season ticket is personal and registered to a named holder, and that transfer or use by a third party is allowed only under the conditions and through the official transfer procedure set out in those terms and applied by the club.
It said the sale, resale or distribution of a season ticket to a third party for payment is expressly forbidden, whether done directly or through social media, websites, online platforms or any other unauthorised network.
Olympiacos said that any transfer, distribution, resale or use of a season ticket in breach of these terms can bring sanctions and consequences set out in the terms and under applicable law, affecting both the season ticket holder and, where relevant, the person who acquires or uses the ticket.
Monitoring and enforcement
The club said it systematically monitors and investigates cases of unauthorised distribution and resale of tickets, and that when a breach of the terms or of applicable law is established, it reserves the right to take all available action and impose the sanctions provided for.
Olympiacos clarified that these measures are not limited to season tickets. It said it will take the same action in any case where unauthorised or illegal sale, resale or paid distribution of individual match tickets is identified, whether through social media, online platforms and websites or by any other means, and that it reserves all rights and measures provided for under its terms and current legislation in those cases too.
Advice to fans
The club urged supporters not to buy tickets from third parties, through social media or from unauthorised websites and platforms. It said that holding or displaying a ticket in the Gov.gr Wallet does not by itself certify that the ticket was acquired in accordance with the club's terms, nor does it guarantee entry to the stadium if the ticket was previously subject to unauthorised distribution or resale.
Gov.gr Wallet is the Greek government's digital wallet service, used among other things to store electronic match tickets on a mobile phone.
For the protection of supporters, Olympiacos said the only official ticket distribution networks are its own official website and the official ticketing platform more.com, along with any other point of sale officially announced by the club.
