A veteran cemetery worker has shared a story about an encounter on the job that initially seemed supernatural before he realized there was a logical explanation. The Reddit user, writing under the handle Aidnabett, explained that he has worked as a gravedigger for many years.
Recounting the event, Aidnabett said that he was closing down the cemetery one evening when he locked the men's restroom and then the family restroom. As he approached the women's restroom, he heard a hand dryer switch on inside. He decided to wait outside so that the visitor could finish using the facility.
The worker noted that the dryer eventually turned off and several minutes passed, but no one stepped out of the room. A moment later, the hand dryer unexpectedly activated for a second time. Assuming that he was simply overly tired and needed to escort the visitor off the premises, he opened the door, only to discover that the room was completely empty. Despite seeing nobody inside, he reported feeling a strange presence, though he later concluded that he had likely witnessed issues with the electrical power supply.
Unusual Discoveries in Cemetery Graves
In addition to the ghostly scare, the experienced gravedigger detailed some of the unusual items he has uncovered while excavating burial plots over his career. He mentioned finding human remains such as skulls, femur bones, and dental prostheses originating from unmarked graves dating to the first half of the 20th century.
His historical finds were not limited to human remains. Aidnabett said he has also dug up 19th-century soda bottles, dinner plates, old bricks, and massive tree roots during his routine work on the grounds. Reddit is an online social discussion network where users post personal experiences across topic communities.
The gravedigger's account follows a previous disclosure by a 19-year-old funeral home employee who shared what she described as the most unpleasant details of her line of work. That worker explained that her duties specialized in transporting bodies and preparing them for burial.
