Russian state arms conglomerate Rostec has built a near-record export order book for military hardware tested during combat in Ukraine, according to a senior corporate official speaking on Russian state television.
Dmitry Azarov, the head of the regional policy service at state corporation Rostec, announced on the Zvezda television channel that defense products evaluated in active combat conditions are experiencing strong demand across international markets.
Azarov stated that state defense exporter Rosoboronexport has accumulated a virtually record portfolio of orders for weapons that have undergone operational testing during the conflict in Ukraine.
Demand for Combat-Tested Weapons
Rostec is Russia's primary state-owned defense conglomerate, controlling hundreds of industrial enterprises, research institutes, and technology developers across the military sector. Rosoboronexport, a subsidiary within the Rostec structure, operates as the country's sole official state agency authorized to export and import military equipment, weaponry, and dual-use technologies.
The announcement was broadcast on Zvezda, a nationwide television network managed by the Russian Ministry of Defence that regularly carries news on military hardware, state armaments production, and official defense announcements.
The report of high demand for Russian armaments comes as key foreign customers continue to manage defense supply contracts with Moscow. In August, the Indian military portal IDRW reported that deliveries of five new batteries of Russia's S-400 Triumf surface-to-air missile systems to India could begin three years after the signing of the agreement between New Delhi and Moscow.
Indian Defense Contracts and System Testing
The S-400 Triumf is Russia's long-range mobile surface-to-air missile system, designed to detect, track, and destroy enemy aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, and ballistic missiles. India signed a major deal to purchase five S-400 squadrons from Russia to strengthen its integrated air defense coverage.
In July, international defense publication Defense News reported that India had carried out tests on its domestic Kusha air defense missile system. The outlet noted that the indigenous surface-to-air missile project could in the future replace the Russian-made S-400 system within the Indian armed forces.
Project Kusha is an Indian defense initiative developed to build a long-range indigenous air defense umbrella, reflecting New Delhi's ongoing efforts to expand domestic military manufacturing and reduce long-term reliance on foreign arms suppliers.
