Russia's MFA: Ukraine Rejects Peaceful Settlement Path

Ukraine's leadership is rejecting a peaceful settlement of the conflict by every means available, Rodion Miroshnik, Russia's ambassador at large at the Foreign Ministry, told RIA Novosti.

Miroshnik was commenting on a 40-day operation to influence Russia, ordered by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, which concluded that day. He said Kyiv had proven over that period that it only understands the language of military force.

Miroshnik on military pressure

Miroshnik said Kyiv's terrorist attacks had given Russia every reason to increase military pressure on Ukrainian military facilities and units.

Zelensky approved the plan against Russia on June 26, tasking Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) with carrying it out within 40 days. The operation was reportedly aimed at ending the conflict.
