Samsung Galaxy S27 models to feature at least 12 GB RAM

Samsung Galaxy S27 smartphones will feature at least 12 GB of RAM across the entire family, according to a leak by insider Tarun Vats.

Vats shared the information on the social network X, stating that the specification applies to international versions carrying the model code SM-S95xB. Under this plan, even the base model in the next-generation flagship range would match the memory capacity previously reserved for senior Samsung devices.

The memory allocation mirrors configurations found in Samsung's current lineup. The existing Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Plus both come equipped with 12 GB of RAM. The top-tier Galaxy S26 Ultra offers configurations with either 12 GB or 16 GB of RAM, with the larger memory tier restricted to the version with 1 TB of onboard storage.

Random access memory allows a smartphone to keep multiple applications running simultaneously without pausing or refreshing them. Higher memory capacity has become increasingly critical as mobile device manufacturers incorporate demanding artificial intelligence tools that execute calculations directly on the phone. Samsung Electronics, the South Korean technology manufacturer, produces its Galaxy S flagship devices annually as its primary competitors to high-end rival smartphones.

Processor split across the Galaxy S27 series

Beyond the unified memory baseline, Samsung is preparing a substantial division in internal processors across different tiers of the upcoming lineup. Records from the NBD database indicate that the company plans to power the standard Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27 Plus with its proprietary Exynos 2700 processor.

The higher-tier smartphones in the family are slated to use silicon from Qualcomm. The Galaxy S27 Pro will receive the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset, while the most expensive model in the family, the Galaxy S27 Ultra, will feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip.

Samsung has historically divided its flagship models between Qualcomm Snapdragon chips and its own in-house Exynos processors depending on device tier and geography. The SM-S95xB model numbering identified in the leak designates international variants, which Samsung traditionally distributes across European and global markets.
