SEPE pays jobseekers 10 euros daily to complete courses

Spain's SEPE employment service provides 10 euros a day to jobseekers attending approved training courses to help workers adapt to changing labor needs.

SEPE pays jobseekers 10 euros daily to complete courses

Spain's State Public Employment Service is paying 10 euros per day to jobseekers who attend select vocational training courses across the country.

The financial allowance from the agency, known locally as SEPE, aims to lower economic barriers for unemployed individuals seeking to upgrade their workplace skills.

The grant scheme was highlighted by the specialized publication Business Insider, which reported that the funds are designed to ease the financial burden on trainees while they prepare for new career opportunities.

The daily payments are compatible with most existing unemployment benefits in Spain, although specific conditions must be checked on an individual case basis. Trainees receive the money only after completing their assigned course, meaning enrolment alone does not guarantee payout.

SEPE is the national agency responsible for managing Spain's employment registry, distributing unemployment benefits, and overseeing state-funded vocational training schemes. Operating alongside employment departments in Spain's autonomous communities, the body works to match jobseekers with changing workforce requirements.

Requirements and eligibility criteria

To receive the daily 10-euro payment, candidates must meet several mandatory requirements set by the employment service. Applicants must be officially registered as jobseekers and participate in a training program funded either by SEPE or by an autonomous community.

Recipients must also adhere strictly to mandatory attendance rules established for the course. In certain cases, eligibility is restricted to applicants under 30 years of age.

Prospective students are advised to confirm that their chosen program qualifies for the allowance and that they satisfy all personal requirements before enrolling.

Application process and administration

The procedure for requesting the stipend is structured to be straightforward for participants. In many cases, administrative processing occurs automatically when a student registers for an eligible course.

However, applicants must still verify that the course carries financial support and submit the required documentation alongside their application form. This ensures candidates receive financial backing while gaining qualifications to improve their employment prospects.

Workforce trends and job market pressures

The training initiative comes as workers in Spain express growing concern over employment stability and career advancement. According to the Jobs on the Rise 2026 study conducted by LinkedIn, 67 percent of workers in Spain feel unprepared to search for a new job this year.

The same LinkedIn survey revealed that 58 percent of respondents believe finding a new job opportunity is more difficult now than it was one year ago. Continuous education has become a key strategy for workers navigating a rapidly changing employment landscape.

LinkedIn operates as a global digital platform for professional networking and labor market research, regularly tracking workforce trends and skill demands across international economies.

By offering daily attendance grants, public employment officials aim to make professional retraining accessible to individuals on tight budgets or without active income, helping them meet the skill demands of Spanish companies.
