Spain defeated Croatia 4-1 in matchday two of Nations League League A, while England secured a 2-0 away win against the Czech Republic.
Coming off a victory at Wembley Stadium a few days earlier, Spain started strongly and opened the scoring in the second minute when Lamine Yamal converted an assist from Alex Baena.
Croatia tried to regroup and managed to equalize in the 27th minute when Dion Drena Beljo headed home a cross from Ivan Perisic. However, the world champions were unaffected by the setback.
Marc Pubill scored with a header from a Yamal cross in the 30th minute to make it 2-1. Yamal then recorded his second goal of the match in the 63rd minute after receiving a through ball from Pedri, before Nico Williams wrapped up the final 4-1 result for Spain in the 89th minute following a fine team move.
The UEFA Nations League is a biennial European international tournament featuring top national teams in League A competing for places in the finals. Spain featured key first-team figures such as Barcelona teammates Yamal and Pedri alongside Athletic Bilbao winger Williams.
England win in Czech Republic
In the group's other fixture, the Czech Republic hosted England but was reduced to ten players in the 25th minute following the sending off of Pavel Sulc.
The first half ended goalless despite the numerical advantage for the visiting side. At the start of the second half, Anthony Gordon scored in the 47th minute to give England a 1-0 lead.
Harry Kane added a second goal in the 69th minute as England comfortably secured the 2-0 victory against their ten-man hosts.
England captain Kane leads his national team as their all-time top scorer, while Newcastle United winger Gordon continues to establish his place in the squad. The results leave both Spain and England with wins in their League A group fixtures.
