Sporting Cristal has confirmed the departure of Gustavo Zevallos as the club’s football director, ending a tenure that began in December 2024 as part of an institutional restructuring.
The Peruvian club struggled to maintain consistent performances during Zevallos’s time in the role, and his tenure was marked by instability that included coaching staff changes and adverse results in both Liga 1 and international competition. His responsibilities included squad planning and the selection of technical staff.
The club said its leadership is already searching for a replacement but has not confirmed any candidate officially. Management is evaluating profiles capable of leading a new phase with greater stability and long-term direction.
Sporting Cristal said the incoming director’s main objectives will be to recover ground in the domestic league and compete more solidly at the international level.
