Teruel City Council awarded a municipal land plot located at 4 Margarita Salas Street on Tuesday to build a new residential building.
According to an information note issued by the council, the transfer of the public land was carried out through a direct award procedure outlined in municipal regulations. The contract sets a maximum construction timeframe of 24 months so that the public property serves its social purpose without delays.
The local government stated that the transaction forms part of a city policy to place publicly owned land on the market. This policy aims to stimulate housing development in Teruel, where demand for new residences has grown in recent years.

The council highlighted that using public property to generate residential units is one of its most direct methods to address housing needs without relying solely on private initiative. Municipal officials added that building a new residential complex in the city center will stimulate the local construction sector, generating economic activity and employment.
