British actor Tom Holland has entered the top three highest-grossing actors in cinema history after total box office receipts for his films passed $15.2 billion.
Figures reported by social media account DiscussingFilm on X, formerly Twitter, show the 28-year-old performer has surpassed fellow Marvel star Chris Pratt in the updated commercial rankings.
Holland's surge up the box office standings was driven by his latest release, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which has earned $2.28 billion worldwide and remains in theatrical release. He also appeared this year in director Christopher Nolan's epic film project Odyssey.

The updated totals make Holland the youngest member of the top ten commercially successful actors in film history. He now trails only two of his colleagues from the Avengers superhero franchise. Zoe Saldana leads the ranking with total film receipts of $15.47 billion, while Scarlett Johansson sits in second place with $15.4 billion. Pratt, whose career total stands at $15.1 billion, slipped to fourth place following the latest update.
Holland is best known for playing Peter Parker and his superhero alter ego Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a global media franchise and shared film continuity produced by Marvel Studios. Saldana gained her record box office totals through main roles as Gamora in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy series and Neytiri in James Cameron's Avatar films. Johansson achieved her total primarily through her long-running portrayal of Natasha Romanoff, also known as Black Widow, across multiple Marvel blockbusters.
Top grossing Hollywood stars
The remaining positions in the top ten list of highest-earning performers are held by Samuel L Jackson, Robert Downey Jr, Tom Cruise, Chris Hemsworth, Vin Diesel, and Chris Evans. Of those ten actors, only Cruise and Diesel earned their places without appearing in Marvel superhero universe projects.
Nolan, the British-American filmmaker behind acclaimed cinematic projects such as Oppenheimer and Inception, cast Holland in Odyssey as part of an ensemble cast that drew significant audience attention during its theatrical run earlier this year.
Recent release controversies
Holland's box office milestone follows recent online activity from Marvel fans, who targeted user ratings for the Russian motion picture Kolobok. The social media campaign erupted after reports indicated that movie theater operators had been asked to postpone the premiere of Spider-Man: Brand New Day to give priority to the domestic film.
With Spider-Man: Brand New Day still currently showing in theaters globally, Holland's total box office figure is positioned to increase further as ticket sales continue to accumulate.
