A group of traveling musicians called the Tournée des Refuges has spent thirteen years hiking through the French mountains with their instruments strapped to their backs, performing for hikers and climbers along the way.

Every summer, the musicians walk mountain trails stretching from the Jura to Haute-Savoie. Since the project began thirteen years ago, they have covered nearly 7,500 kilometers on foot.
A demanding musical journey
The trek is described as a genuine feat of endurance. Each summer season, new artists join the group, some of them less accustomed to physical exertion, and the journey pushes them to go beyond their limits.
Along the trails, the musicians bring sounds from elsewhere to the hikers and mountaineers they meet, offering an unexpected musical encounter far from any concert hall.
