Trump Media & Technology Group, managed by the family of US President Donald Trump, transferred 2,628 bitcoins to the Crypto.com exchange, analysts at blockchain service Lookonchain reported.
Lookonchain analysts suggested the move could indicate preparations to sell the cryptocurrency. However, representatives for Trump Media told The Block that the bitcoins were transferred as part of a digital asset management strategy and have not been sold.

TMTG selected Crypto.com in May 2025 as one of two platforms to manage its bitcoin reserve, alongside second partner Anchorage Digital. Following the transaction, wallets linked to Trump Media by analysts hold about 4,261 bitcoins. The remaining coins serve as collateral for convertible bonds and must remain locked until at least May 2028.
Crypto reserve strategy
Over the past seven months, TMTG reduced its crypto reserves by 63 percent, transferring a total of 7,281 BTC to exchanges at an average price of around $74,855 per bitcoin. A year ago, TMTG announced plans to invest up to $2.5 billion in bitcoin and reported its first deal a month later. By the end of July 2025, investments in bitcoin and related financial instruments reached roughly $2 billion, and Arkham data showed the corporation held about 12,000 bitcoins on its balance sheet by the end of that year.
Trump Media & Technology Group, which owns the social network Truth Social, previously reported a first-quarter loss of $405.9 million this year, with financial results affected in part by investments in crypto assets. Donald Trump owns 53 percent of Trump Media shares, giving him control over the company.
