A large fire broke out at a Wildberries logistics centre in the settlement of Novosemeyкino in Russia’s Samara region after a Ukrainian drone strike, with thick smoke filling the sky over the area.
The company confirmed a fire had started at its logistics facility in Samara region as a result of a drone attack, adding that its logistics chains had been rerouted. According to Russian media, the warehouse covers 130,000 square metres and only opened in May 2025. It was intended to hold up to 120 million units of goods once fully operational.
The Telegram channel ASTRA identified the burning facility as the Wildberries warehouse at the Novosemeyкino industrial park. Eyewitnesses posted photos and videos of the blaze online.
This was the ninth Wildberries warehouse to be struck by Ukrainian drones since mid-July. Experts said the attacks aim not only to cause economic damage but also to disrupt the supply of dual-use goods reaching the Russian military through the company’s warehouses, including fibre optics, optics, body armour, medical equipment, and drone components. Experts assessed that around 40 percent of such strike targets carry military significance, with the remaining 60 percent aimed at economic and political effect.
