Yenddi tops Dominican radio charts with Soldado Engañado

Dominican singer-songwriter Yenddi has reached number one on Dominican Republic radio with his single Soldado engañado, according to airplay tracking service Monitor Latino.

The milestone coincides with a new phase of international promotion for the artist after signing with management company Joch Entertainment. Experienced music executive Jochy Rodríguez has immediately taken charge of directing the singer's national and international strategy.

Yenddi said reaching the top spot on Monitor Latino was a blessing and a major responsibility. He stated that the ranking proved audiences were embracing this new stage of his career, adding that working alongside Rodríguez and the Joch Entertainment team would allow them to take bachata to stages around the world.

Bachata is a genre of Latin music that originated in the Dominican Republic, characterized by acoustic guitar melodies and romantic or sorrowful themes. Monitor Latino measures radio airplay across Latin America and Spanish-language radio stations in the United States.

Transition from songwriter to solo performer

Before stepping forward as a solo artist, Yenddi spent several years working behind the scenes as a composer. He later decided to claim his own space as an interpreter, developing a repertoire focused on romantic bachata and themes of heartbreak.

His debut vocal single, Yo no he llorado, quickly became a viral hit across digital streaming platforms. According to a press release, the track accumulated millions of streams and earned a Gold Record certification from the Recording Industry Association of America, which certifies commercial music sales in the United States.

Yenddi subsequently released his studio album titled 46 Meses. The conceptual record features unreleased songs exploring emotional wounds and life struggles, establishing a major radio presence in Europe, Central America, and the Dominican Republic.

Alongside his album release, the singer has generated millions of individual streams through songs connecting with listeners' daily lives, including Jugando a ser feliz and his current radio-topping promotional single, Soldado engañado.

Songwriting success and major industry awards

Yenddi first entered the commercial music market in 2016 with the track Diez segundos, a vocal and songwriting collaboration with Dominican bachata star Zacarías Ferreira. Over the course of his career, Yenddi has earned two Gold records and one Platinum record.

He is also the creator of La Asesina, another song performed by Ferreira. The track won Best Bachata of the Year at the Premio Soberano awards, the top cultural and entertainment honours presented annually by the Dominican Republic's Association of Art Writers.

La Asesina achieved ten-time Platinum status, earning a historic Diamond Album certification from the Recording Industry Association of America. Yenddi has also written several other popular Dominican radio hits in the genre, including El Intruso, Los Recuerdos, and El amor no tuvo la culpa.
