Football star Zlatan Ibrahimovic's former luxury villa in Sweden has had its asking price cut to 27.5 million kronor after going unsold. The three-storey residence, located near the Jaemtland ski resort, was originally built by the Swedish striker in 2014.
Three entrepreneurs who purchased the property from Ibrahimovic seven years after its construction have struggled to secure a buyer. A price tag of 32 million Swedish kronor failed to attract interest last summer, and a subsequent asking price of 30 million kronor yielded no buyers in the spring.
The current asking price of 27.5 million kronor represents a significant reduction, despite the owners expanding the residence to include an extra bedroom and a games room. Swedish daily newspaper Expressen reported on the ongoing sale under a headline stating that Zlatan's luxury house was once again on the market.
Agent confident of closing deal
Joachim Soederberg of Sotheby's International Realty, the estate agency handling the listing, described the house as an exceptional property and noted that sales of high-end homes frequently require considerable time. He explained that the current valuation for the residence, known as Ze Villa, was attractive, though the final sale figure might land slightly lower.
Soederberg stated that if the final price reached 27 million or 26.5 million kronor, or a similar level, he was fully confident the sellers would obtain a figure within those bounds. He added that while the building's connection to Ibrahimovic helped boost interest, prospective buyers would ultimately focus on its practical advantages.
The real estate broker also observed that buyer interest had exceeded expectations, particularly considering the current election period and broader global uncertainty. He highlighted several key features of the property, including an unobstructed view and an elevated position that receives sunlight throughout the year while remaining set back from main ski tourist routes.
Soederberg noted that life at the villa was quieter, providing a private garage and all necessary amenities while avoiding the regular parking problems found in the village below. He added that buyers in this high-end segment often value privacy and do not always wish to be in plain sight.

Ibrahimovic owned the property for seven years after building it in 2014, eventually selling it for 30 million Swedish kronor, an amount equivalent to approximately 11.56 million Polish zloty. However, the footballer rarely spent extended time at the retreat because his playing career was based primarily outside Sweden.
