AEK Athens Close to Signing Hungarian Midfielder Milan Vitalis

AEK Athens have reached an agreement with Hungarian international midfielder Milan Vitalis, with the transfer expected to be finalised on Sunday at a total cost of 2.5 million euros.

Vitalis, who was named the most valuable player at Gyor during the Hungarian championship-winning campaign last season, is set to become the Greek champions’ fifth summer signing. Manager Marko Nikolic personally identified him as a target, having known the player from Hungary, and believes he fits the profile needed for the central midfield axis as well as the left side of the attack.

AEK are completing their preseason camp in Apeldoorn, Netherlands, with a friendly against Sint-Truiden before returning home to prepare for their competitive opener, the Super Cup against OFI on August 12.

Kostic Also in the Picture

AEK are also pursuing experienced Serbian left back Filip Kostic, who is a free agent after leaving Juventus. Kostic has a formal offer from AEK on the table but is also being pursued by Eindhoven, and a final answer is expected within 24 hours.
