AEK Athens head coach Marko Nikolic expressed deep frustration after his team conceded a 97th-minute equalizer to draw 1-1 against Kifisia at the Leoforos stadium.
The Yellow-Blacks struggled to find their form throughout the match but managed to break the deadlock in the 63rd minute when Varga found the net. However, AEK were unable to secure all three points after Beni scored late in stoppage time to equalize for Kifisia.
Speaking to Cosmote TV immediately after the final whistle, Nikolic made no attempt to hide his anger at the result. He said he did not wish to comment at length, but stated that there was great annoyance within the team, remarking that certain rules appear to apply sometimes and not at other times.
Nikolic added that while he did not want to diminish the effort put in by Kifisia, AEK should have finished off the match much earlier. He emphasized that his team ought to have left the stadium with three points rather than having to settle for one.
