Anna-Maria and Eirini Alexandri won gold in the duet free routine at the European Aquatics Championship in Paris, adding to the technical routine title they had already claimed at the same event.
The artistic swimming pair, who returned to compete for Greece after 14 years, scored 316.3315 points in the final. The result repeated the double they achieved at the 2023 European Games, when they represented Austria.
The top spot was decided by a narrow margin. Spain’s Lilou Lluís Valete and Iris Tio Casas scored 315.6442 points, finishing less than one point behind the Alexandri sisters. Russia’s Maya Doroshko and Alexandra Shmit, competing as neutrals, took third place with 310.4407 points.
Greece’s artistic swimming programme has now added two gold medals to its European Championship collection. The country’s only previous title at the championships came in Belgrade in 2024, in the free team event.
