Brazilian brewing company Ambev entered the top ten most traded stocks on Brazil's B3 stock exchange for the first time in 2026, ranking seventh in July.

Data from B3 data solution DataWise+ showed state-backed oil company Petrobras preferred shares, mining group Vale common shares, and private lender Itaú Unibanco preferred shares maintained the top three positions for the third consecutive month. Holding company Itaúsa preferred shares dropped out of the top ten after occupying eighth place in June.

Behind the top three, energy provider Axia common shares ranked fourth, financial institution Bradesco preferred shares placed fifth, and exchange operator B3 common shares took sixth place. Investment bank BTG Pactual units ranked eighth, Petrobras common shares placed ninth, and independent oil producer Prio common shares completed the ranking in tenth.

Investor group trading breakdown

Ambev common shares, traded under ticker ABEV3, also recorded strong transaction volume across specific investor profiles. Among corporate legal entities, Ambev was the single most traded stock in July, finishing ahead of Vale and Itaú Unibanco.

The beverage maker appeared among the ten most traded stocks for three other investor categories, placing sixth among financial institutions, seventh among non-resident foreign investors, and ninth among investment funds. Retail individual investors traded Vale shares most heavily, followed by Petrobras and Itaú Unibanco.

DataWise+ calculates its monthly ranking using total financial volume on the buying side, determined by multiplying the execution price by the total quantity of paper purchased during the calendar period.

The exchange survey also tracked leading trading instruments across other market segments in São Paulo. Among real estate investment funds, WTXA11 registered the highest trading volume in July, followed by GSFI11 in second place and HSLG11 in third.

Exchange-traded fund BOVA11 led its category ahead of SMAL11 and BOVV11. Semiconductor manufacturer Micron ticker MUTC34, technology group Nvidia ticker NVDC34, and mining firm Aura Minerals ticker AURA33 led trading volume among Brazilian Depositary Receipts.
