Aris Thessaloniki have officially announced the signing of Bruma, the Portuguese winger whose full name is Armindo Tué Na Bangna, after he signed a contract for 1+1 years, the club said in a statement published on its official website on 14 September 2026.
Aris is a Greek Super League club based in Thessaloniki, the country's second-largest city.
Bruma was born on 24 October 1994 in Bissau, the capital of Guinea-Bissau, according to the Aris statement, which traced his career from his early days in Portugal through stops in Turkey, Germany, the Netherlands and Greece before his arrival in Thessaloniki.
Rise through Sporting's academy
Bruma began his career in the academies of Sporting Clube de Portugal, one of Portugal's traditionally dominant clubs, where he made 13 appearances, scored one goal and provided four assists before being introduced to senior European football at a young age.
In 2013 he transferred to Galatasaray, one of Turkey's biggest clubs, where he made 85 appearances, scored 15 goals and set up 21 more. During that spell he also went on loan to Gaziantepspor and to Real Sociedad in Spain, where he played 33 games, scored three goals and added one assist.
Germany, the Netherlands and a title with Olympiacos
In the summer of 2017 Bruma moved to Germany to join RB Leipzig, where over two seasons he made 67 appearances, scored 10 goals and provided five assists. He then transferred to PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands in the summer of 2019, recording 81 appearances, 15 goals and 10 assists for the Dutch club.
During the 2020-21 season Bruma played on loan in Greece for Olympiacos, one of the country's most successful clubs, making 33 appearances, scoring nine goals and adding three assists. He won the Greek league title with Olympiacos at the end of that season.
Fenerbahçe, Braga and Benfica
Bruma then returned to Turkey with Fenerbahçe, before being loaned to SC Braga in Portugal, where the Aris statement said he produced outstanding performances, with 90 appearances, 27 goals and 22 assists.
In February 2025 he joined Benfica, one of Portugal's biggest clubs, adding a further 17 appearances, one goal and two assists to his record before his move to Aris.
At international level Bruma has represented Portugal at every youth level and has made 12 appearances and scored two goals for the senior national team.
'I know my new team well'
Speaking after signing his contract, Bruma told Aris's official website that the club represented a new challenge in his career that he was ready to face.
He said he was happy to return to the Greek championship and that he already knew his new team well, adding that he would find teammates at Aris he already knew.
His goal, he said, was to help the team achieve many wins and make the fans happy. He said he had come to help with all his strength and would try to do so through goals and assists.
He said he felt very good and had a big appetite for the season ahead, and that he wanted to believe this campaign would be Aris's best. With God's help, he said, he believed the team would have a successful season, and that everyone would fight hard together to achieve it.
Bruma also said he wanted to thank the club's president and a club official he named as Mr Reges for their support throughout the process and the trust they had shown in him, saying he would repay it on the pitch.
