Mexican international striker Armando Gonzalez arrived in Greece on Friday afternoon to undergo medical examinations and complete his transfer to Olympiacos.

The forward is joining the Piraeus-based club from Mexican side Chivas in a deal that will reach 12 million euros. He is expected to sign a five-year contract following the completion of his medical tests.
Gonzalez comes off a strong campaign with Chivas, having scored 24 goals and recorded two assists in 38 appearances last season. At Olympiacos, he is set to join Moroccan forward Ayoub El Kaabi in the club's attack.

Speaking upon his arrival on Friday, Gonzalez expressed great happiness and satisfaction regarding his move. He said it was a great honour to play for Olympiacos, describing them as the largest club in Greece, and expressed excitement at playing in front of their supporters.

Addressing the fans directly, Gonzalez promised to give his maximum effort for the team. He said supporters could expect him to give everything for the shirt and deliver his best performance for both the fans and the club.

Karaiskakis Stadium atmosphere
Gonzalez also commented on the prospect of playing at the Karaiskakis Stadium in Piraeus. He noted that over recent days he had been watching numerous videos of the atmosphere inside the stadium, adding that he had a strong desire and was very excited to experience it in person.

Olympiacos, based in Piraeus, are the most successful club in Greek football history, regularly competing in domestic and European tournaments. The addition of Gonzalez strengthens their attacking lineup ahead of the new season.
