Rapper ASAP Rocky has revealed that singer Rihanna stood by him during the lowest points of his life, including the death of his father.
Speaking in an interview on the Jason Lee Show, the hip-hop artist explained that Rihanna supported him constantly, both during their years as close friends and after they became a couple.
The musician recalled learning of the death of his father during Christmas in 2012 while staying in Paris. At the time, his debut album had just reached the top of the music charts.
He described collapsing on the bathroom floor of his Paris hotel room in tears after receiving the news. Rihanna, who was also in Paris, called to congratulate him on his chart success.
When he stopped answering his phone, Rihanna grew concerned and went to find him. ASAP Rocky stated that he did not know how she obtained the key to his room, but she walked in and asked if he was okay.
He emphasized that her actions were those of a true friend and stressed that her loyalty had nothing to do with her accolades or her wealth.
Support during personal tragedy
ASAP Rocky commented that whenever he finds himself at his lowest and darkest point, Rihanna is always present for him regardless of whether they are friends or partners.
During the broadcast, he also reflected on the loss of his older brother, Ricky, who died when the rapper was still a teenager. ASAP Rocky revealed that he viewed Ricky as a second father.
He explained that losing the first person who genuinely believed in him was extremely difficult. He added that he was unable to speak about his brother for years before realizing that Ricky was the person who gave him life.

ASAP Rocky and Rihanna confirmed their romantic relationship in 2020 following years of media speculation about their bond.
The couple have since built a family together and are parents to three children, including sons RZA and Riot and daughter Rocki.
