Asteras Tripolis Appeal Greek Cup Defeat to Levadiakos

Asteras Tripolis have filed an official protest against Levadiakos following their 2-0 defeat in the Superbet Greek Cup second qualifying round.

The Arcadian side claim that Levadiakos fielded a player illegally during the home victory on Tuesday, August 18. The result had initially secured the Boeotian team a place in the tournament's League Phase.

Asteras lodged the objection to examine whether Levadiakos fulfilled all requirements stipulated by the Disciplinary Code of Football (KAP) regarding the eligibility of the player in question.

EPO Disciplinary Investigation

The case has now been referred to the disciplinary authorities of the Hellenic Football Federation (EPO), which acts as the organizing body of the Superbet Greek Cup. The sports judicial chambers will decide the outcome of the complaint.

Asteras Tripolis, based in Tripoli in the Peloponnese, are commonly known as the Arcadians. Levadiakos are based in the Boeotian city of Livadeia. The Hellenic Football Federation, the governing body of Greek football, enforces strict regulations regarding player registration and disciplinary suspensions through its regulatory code.

Fifteen teams have secured their places in the League Phase of the Superbet Greek Cup. Levadiakos are currently listed among the qualified clubs alongside major Greek teams OFI, PAOK, Panathinaikos, AEK, and Olympiacos.
